Project Available:
First-person emphasizing humor and useful info, or third-person
standard travel writing and images. Subjects will include the
makeup of the village and its recovery from disastrous flood of 2003
(due to illegal logging), behavioral habits and status of primates
in the area, including Thomas Leaf Monkey, Long-tailed Macaque, and
The Big Orange - the orangutan. If humor is incorporated, slightly irreverent tone would be part of the composition, recounting relaxed habits and attitudes of the locals, including driver out of Medan, negotiations, pitches (not always 100% factual), and traits of the primates - including hotel room infiltrations and friendly mingling with Thomas Leak Monkeys in the jungle. [Also optional: Lighthearted rundown on prevalence of a certain herb in the village.] Standard options would include what to expect in accommodations, food and drink, river riding, and jungle trekking - ranging from day trips to 5-day outings - transit via Medan, general tips. |
